Friends of Type

It’s extra nice when you come across a site that has that special feeling of being created by a group of people who are friends and hold similar interests, a great example of such a site is Friends of Type. I have been following the site and the twitter for about a week now and I have been completely amazed by the speed and quality of the work that is published on the site.

What makes FoT even more original is each piece of type work can be at a completely different level of development from biro sketches to beautiful vector work. It was definately hard trying to pick the the pieces of type work to use.

Typography Served

Typography Served is like the font filter for Behance. Every day new type related projects get pulled from Behance and displayed on the site. There is always a large variation in the work that you can see, everything from font releases to 3D type work. It’s always nice to see what designers in Europe and the rest of the world are doing with fonts and Typography Served always has a good selection of foreign designers.

HypeForType Exclusive Faces Vol2

Hype For Type, the type foundry created by Alex Haigh, has just released their second collection of extra special and extra exclusive typefaces.

Volume 2 contains fonts designed by Research Studios, Suprb, Richard Perez, MWM.Graphics and Non-Format.

As always, Alex has selected a high quality range of designers to create typefaces for his foundry and as always I’m sure they will be a massive success.

Font Soup is Changing

I am changing the way Font Soup works. Instead of being somewhere Students can host, display and sell their fonts, the Soup is becoming more of a blog where Type news and Font releases will be documented.

Before you get worried, Font Soup will still be publishing type related briefs on a regular basis.

Keep an eye on Font Soup over the coming weeks as there is going to be some big changes.
