If you’ve got some pocket money to burn, I highly recommend spending it on some cracking prints from the guys at Friends of Type.

“A set of 4 prints, each by a different member of Friends of Type. Limited to an edition of 100, these prints were expertly letterpressed by the wonderful Jordan Provost of enormouschampion [enormouschampion.com]. Each portrait 8″ x 10″ print is blind embossed with the Friends of Type masthead and is numbered and signed by the designer. Printed on Neenah Classic Crest 110# paper.”

I received mine yesterday and I was very impressed by the quality of paper, printing and packaging, worth every penny.

It’s extra nice when you come across a site that has that special feeling of being created by a group of people who are friends and hold similar interests, a great example of such a site is Friends of Type. I have been following the site and the twitter for about a week now and I have been completely amazed by the speed and quality of the work that is published on the site.

What makes FoT even more original is each piece of type work can be at a completely different level of development from biro sketches to beautiful vector work. It was definately hard trying to pick the the pieces of type work to use.

Typography Served is like the font filter for Behance. Every day new type related projects get pulled from Behance and displayed on the site. There is always a large variation in the work that you can see, everything from font releases to 3D type work. It’s always nice to see what designers in Europe and the rest of the world are doing with fonts and Typography Served always has a good selection of foreign designers.
